I love catching and eating Whitebass. We caught three quart zip lock bags of fillets last night. I cooked up one bag today. That's what's left after eating as much as I could. Yum. Just remember to cut the blood meat off and it's as good as any fish.

Even with the red meat cut out they are pretty fishy. That doesn't bother me, because I like fish, but some people that will eat crappie can't handle the fishiness of white bass. I will have to disagree with "good as any fish" though. They aren't on the same level as bream, crappie, and sauger IMO, but everyone's taste buds are different.

I'm not getting the fishy taste. I deep fry with MCormick beer batter and Panko crumbs. I also add beer, an egg or two, and some Cajun spice. I made some whitebass and crappy for some friends and they said they couldn't tell the difference. We must be doing something different. Good luck.
