New to this gardening thing. Anyone have any luck growing the white half runners? I planted a bush bean last year and they were easy to pick and maintain. I'll be honest, I asked around more this year and most recommended the white half runners. I bought them and planted them but didn't realize until tonight that they aren't bush beans. I've made a fool of myself but learned something new. Any tips of getting the most out of my beans? Should I run some woven wire fence and let them run up that? Thank in advance for any help

That is the only bean I ever planted. They will do fine just crawling on the ground. I did string them up one year and personally don't think it is worth the extra trouble of running post and string. I always planted my rows about 2-2.5' apart and just let them grow.

I picked mine two good times and the third was sporadic. I was over mine by the third picking and usually let the critters eat them. Btw, I gave up gardening a couple years ago. Too much like work!
