I am sure this is a loaded (pardon the pun) question, but what is a goos muzzle loader to buy?
I am talking package deal, stainless steel, 50 cal, synthetic stock.

I am not interested in interchangeable barrels.

I do like removable breech plugs.

Any ideas?

I would not consider anything other than a smokeless savage.. shot regular ml's for 25 years.. went smokeless and will never go back..

The Savage ML-II smokeless gets my vote as well. I can say without a doubt, purchasing a Savage smokeless is the BEST move, hands down, that I ever made when it comes to muzzleloading. Best of luck in your final decision.

IF I were ever gonna shoot smoke again I would buy a Knight, you can get an absolute steal on a used Knight if you keep your eyes open, I've been tempted many a time over on Modern Muzzleloader by some of the listings in their classifieds. I've just determined, that for me, smokeless is the way to go. I'll always have a soft spot for the Knight's though. I sold my last one, a .45 Master Hunter Stainless Laminate to DoubleAArchery on here and regretted it since the moment I let go of it, even tried to buy it back from him with no luck, lol.
