Where to on Dale Hollow?

A friend of mine from KY is meeting me at Dale Hollow Dam Campground Friday night for a weekend of camping and fishing. We were planning to trout fish in the Obey River, but they've been generating like crazy for a week and might not stop.

If we fish the lake, where would you suggest going? Neither of us have ever fished it. We aren't picky on fish species, but Smallies sure would be nice. We both have Gheenoe boats and plan to drive to a ramp wherever we end up going.

Same area in case they stop generating.....put in at cedar hill marina and fish the drops along steep bluffs and edges of grassy points. That should get you into trout, walleye and some big smallies. For the smallies use jigs and flukes especially if you can find some deep grass. For the walleye fish IN the grass, the trout will be along the bluffs and you can probably catch a couple nice ones on jigging spoons or small cranks if you can get them down about 15 feet.

You can still catch trout when they are generating. Just find jetties where the current isn't as strong.
