between the Ensley Unit hunt and the President's Island hunt on Dec 7-9?

I thought there was only one hunt that was for bucks bigger than a spike? it seems you can kill a buck and doe on the presidents island hunt but only a buck on the Ensley Unit?
 
I hunted the Ensley unit in 2008 and it was buck only. I don't recall if there is a doe hunt there or not. The island has the buck hunt and 1 or 2 doe hunts. Why a difference...somebody smarter than me will have to chime in. LOL
 
No i read the book and i thought it said there was a hunt on Dec 7-9 on the island for a buck 9 pts or better and a doe and at the same time on the Ensley Unit for 1 buck 9 pts or better? I thought there was only one hunt where a buck larger than a spike could be killed?
 
Same hunt date just 2 different areas, very different. I too hunted Ensley a few yrs back, its a 900 acre triangle of woods, where the Island is over 4k acres I believe with a mix of woods and fields/thickets/etc.
 
There are zero hunts on either spot for "a buck bigger than a spike"

On the antlerless hunts, however, they *DO* allow you to kill spikes now (they can't have forked antlers).

I guess that gives the hunters a bit of leeway in case there's some bone hiding between the ears.

Except for the December hunt, where the Bucks must be 9 points, or more to kill.

Sort of like a slot limit on a lake on what size fish you can keep ! lol
