What type of bream is this?

agree with mick. there is a lot of hybridization among sunfish. you can find hybrid bluegill stockers for ponds as well.

all good answers... I figured it was some kind of Hybrid but was not sure... the coloring is what was so weird. It looks to have some shellcracker in it....

We get a lot of bluegill/shell cracker hybrids here on Norris Lake. I'm definitely no expert, but it looks consistent with some of the markings we see on them.
