I guess I should probably be keeping up with the news, but what in the world is going on with Ammo production these days? Is it truly the brass shortage, or presenditial scare?

I went to dicks in mt juliet yesterday. Noticed the shelves looked kind of slim for the handgun ammo. No .40, No .38 Spec, few boxes of 357 mag.

Out at Academy in Franklin. Finally found 1 box of hollow point .40 cal.

Bass pro -- same slim pickings.

Shelves are empty or almost empty everywhere seems like.

You guys seeing the same thing across the state?

Your a little out of touch, it's been going on for over 6 months now. It won't let up in the near future either.

factory ammo, reloading supplies, etc.

Doom and Gloom the world is coming to a end. Alot of people have been stocking up. Also something like 15 or 18 states are introducing legislation to put serial #s on all ammo.I'm not sure if this is slowing production ?? Alot of stuff is happening in the world toady that is affecting ammo.

Gotcha. Looks like i better get my head out of work and start paying attention.

Why the serial number, do they plan on tracking where every box of ammo goes and how much people buy? Crazy times these days.

Yeah solodren not good.... The pistols themselves were pretty slim pickings as well at bass pro as well. Not sure if they are selling as fast as the ammo too.

Yeah, we elected a democratic liberal for president, a flaming democratic liberal is speaker of the house-Pelosi, and an even more democratic liberal Harry Reid as head of Congress. So the trifecta of anti-gun is in control of the White House, Senate, and Congress have ALL the control. So you could say the 2nd Amendment is going to be under attack for the next 4 to 8 years.

Yes, you have been under a rock. BTW, better not check your 401K. You might find out it's lost about 40-50% of it's value as well.

"we" didn't do schitt...don't include me in the ignorant masses that voted for 'Hope" and "Change" without any definition of what that meant.

Some of "WE" did vote for the Nazi Party.

Dwuck, Fwoggy, Dwalton, Locksley, Oneshot, Big Ben, etc. Did I leave anyone out?

OK OK, I'm not included in the "WE" either. I should have rephrased that comment on "the idiots, and special interest people of this country looking for a handout got off their lazy asses on Nov. 4th and elected a Muslim that hasn't proven his citizenship yet. A Democrat from the most corrupt state in the Union, who passed no laws, never made a payroll, but can throw our money at those who will continually mimick a tick and suck the life blood out of this country and drag it down"......Better?

I think you hit it on the head.

54% of those that voted put him in office.
100% of us have to live with that selection.
Guns and ammo? Nobody sells them like democrats in office.
When you find ammo that you need, buy it.
Ammo supply lines are tight right now.
I've found that hitting the stores in the middle of the week gives you a better chance at finding some in stock. Weekends are the busiest times at outdoor themed stores, but take your lunch hour Wednesday or Thursday and see what you can find.

Powder & round balls..........................stock up. I have never read one article about our forefathers using AR-15's or AK-47's, etc.

Just my opinion, but when it comes right down to it, the only things left will be Powder & round ball......................................

Yeah, I agree. No need for semi-automatics. Might as well just sell me yours since you don't need them. ;)

That's why I have 5 muzzleloaders!

4 Muzzeloader for me with lots of powder, and I pour my own lead for the 45 rifle, with more molds to come. :)

I cruzed down the Ammo section at Bass Pro the other day.
Ooo Weee the shells heve gone up.$50 bucks for accubonds in 270 wsm. $30 for the bread and butter stuff.
A guy puts out allmost as much money on sight in and break in ammo as he pays for a moderately priced rifle, shotgun, or pistol.
Reloading is the way to go if you plan on shooting even some these days let alone a lot.

gotcha XX75, I thought you were referring to something else.

btw, on that note. I've caught walmart putting the granular 777 on clearance last couple of years. I've gotten 4 or 5 of them 1lb cans. Once I got it for about $6 a can.

also got my own round ball moulds and a 5 gallon bucket of wheel weight lead.

I can make my own lead balls/bullets till I'm retarded :D

yep, lots of 1 lb cans all vacuum sealed up and stored away. Food sealer ain't just for venison anymore............lol.

Great idea FDXX75 are there any concerns with static electricity sparks when you open the bag? Do you seal the 1 lb containers in the bags with the powder still in the container or remove the powder and seal it?
