If you care to include "Not Tennessee", I'll add The Hog Pen outside Osceola, AR. I would legitimately put them head-to-head with the best anywhere. Just like Ms. Helen, there's a woodpile out back where someone has to swing a maul for them to stay cooking.

second on Ramey's. the finishing sauce is vinegar and cayenne kind of like jacks creek bbq when i was a kid.

we used to have a very good joint in Camden until Tommy got cancer and sold his business. some of the bbq judges from memphis used to come buy his sauce by the case. i used to rag him and tell him that sauce taste a lot like my step grandaddy's before he died, which Clyde may have given him the recipe but ill never know for sure.
