Does anyone use that mesh fabric that you lay down in flower beds between rows of plants in the garden? I don't like to constantly till because I think it pulls moisture out of the ground, but I always have weed problems. What does everyone do for weed control?

I went with the weed cloth last year and will always use it.... Probably one of the best things I have ever done for the garden.... it holds the moisture in really well and the only weeds I had were where I did not put the cloth...

i did buy it in bulk off of the internet.... saved a lot of money..

I used weed fabric last year to cover my whole plot... held down with staples and rocks, but no mulch. Big mistake - weeds came up and pushed the fabric up. Enough light comes thru the fabric the weeds can still grow. This year I will need to get some mulch to put on top of it.

i use my grass clipping. I lay it on pretty thick (5 inches) and no weeds appear. The 5 inches turns into 2 inches after a rain but it still keeps the weeds out. I have bermuta (sp) grass that goes dormant in the fall/winter. I cut it back before it starts to green up. I will pile it up beside my garden and wait until i start planting and just cover it like mulch. it works great
