Advice for someone interested in deer hunting?

Indeed. And sometimes we just don't see them. They slip by without being noticed. Or they just don't show up that day. That's why it's called hunting, not killing.
 
For the sake of argument, let's say you want to get into deer hunting, of course, you have some prior hunting knowledge because, let's face it, no one starts that big. In this situation, what would be a single piece of advice you'd give yourself knowing what you already know now?
You don't need a bunch of store bought crap to deer hunt. Just get in the woods.
