Waterfowl Taxidermy Question

I keep seeing the random waterfowl taxidermy "for sale" postings on craigslist and the waterfowl taxidermy "is not legal for sale in TN" postings. I have also recently seen some waterfowl mounts for sale inside a local business in Clarksville. I have looked online for any regulations/laws and have not been able to find them, probably my lack of understanding. Could you please provide any insight to this? I would just like to know for my own understanding and for any buddies as well.

By state and federal regulations, it is illegal to sell any wild waterfowl mounts. The TWRA rules for the commercial use of wildlife are found in: http://share.tn.gov/sos/rules/1660/1660 ... 110512.pdf

It is my understanding that propagated waterfowl from a federally licensed source may be mounted and sold. However, they have to be able to be identified on the mount.

I suspect a high percentage of waterfowl mounts that you run across for sale are illegal. If you will pm me the Clarksville location, I will forward the info on to the proper LE officers to check it out.
