Buddy of mine bought some 600 gram waders yesterday.

I am wondering if that would be enough for duck hunting here?

Most of my hunting will be done in a blind with probably a couple trips of wading timber thrown in.

From what I am seeing there isn't THAT much of a difference in price so I will probably go with the 1,000.

1000 plus.If your huntin a blind those waders are uncomfortable and are at risk for nail and brush damage especially if you can retrieve from boat.Hip boots are nice for hunting blinds cause you can wade out a bit to load the boat without cranking the motor.Rainy days are made for chest waders to stay dry.Hope this helps.

I've hunted with 600-1600 here. I never got too cold with the 600s, but I stayed very toasty in those 1600's during a couple single digit days last year!

The rogers sporting goods brand are awesome waders and well made i know several people who bought them last year and loved them on the cold days and warmer days.

Your buddy may freeze his butt off. :)

1200+
Good warm waders make life simple while hunting. All you have to worry about is a good warm coat and hat and you are set.
When hunting in a blind the boat trip to the blind and retrieving ducks from the boat you will likely get your tail wet without waders.

Ive hunted the past 4 years in 1200 gram/5mm waders from bass pro and they have been good ones. Rogers has redone their waders this year and im getting the new elites. They are 1600 gram/5mm. My feet have been numb as can be in the 1200's so im hoping the extra 400 will help. FYI, the rogers waders are made by the same people that manufacture the cabelas waders.

i have been wearing 1600gram/5mm waders for 5years and they have kept me warm on some of the coldest mornings i would not go with anything less than 1600gr but thats just me

I have been waiting as well on the rogers toughman waders to arrive, called yesterday and was told it's looking like October instead of late august! Hate to wait till late October and the arrival date get pushed back again! May order some supermags, they are on sale for $219.00 with a $20 off code as well!

Im using 1200 now, have used 800 and 1000 but they just didnt cut it for me. 1200 works well, also been using Lacrosse for years with good results

LaCrosse or Cabela's waders

No less than 1000 grams of thinsulate.

People also have a lot of good things to say about Mack's Prairie wings waders, but I've never owned a pair.

I've duck hunted for 20 years and won't own anything other than Cabela's or LaCrosse.

Do not waste your money on drake waders. A sales rep gave us some on our lease 2 years ago and all of them leaked within a month.

I have been wearing 800gram with wool socks for 4 years and have never been COLD. And I have hunted single digit days, but I would never go any lower. I have some 1200grams I am gonna try out this year.
