go to dougs savage board you will see the sky is the limit

The sky is not the limit with VV110.

44.5 or maybe 45 gr is.

No offense.

Other powders, yes, some may reach close to 80 gr in a .50.

But not 110. You will likely blow sabots at 45+ - which is good, b/c pressure is likely above 45,000 psi.

Safety with a sabot. :)

45 grains VV110 in my savage with a 250 grain hornady sst and federal magnum primer averaged 2425 fps and shot 1 to 1 1/4 inches at 100 yards

sabot choice is as important as anything. The MMP (modern Muzzleloading Products) are designed for the higher pressures.

I agree completely. Also important is protecting the sabot (i.e. keeping the sabot cool and shooting with a smooth barrel). Shots may be every 15-20 mins in 70 degree weather.

Shooting with a warm barrel at loads close to a sabots max will blow sabots.

For these reasons, I believe 44.5-45 gr N110 as max.

One could shoot 50 grains in 0 degree temps, but we rarely have those testing conditions here in TN.

As temp goes down, your load could go up, while keeping pressure the same.

In theory - you have to test for yourself.

Doing good with 43 N110 in mine . Tim wqas getting great groups out of her with 44.5 N110 I was blowing sabots withthat load but that was before I was using mmp sabots
