Short version of the story. Passed him up last year cause only one side. Know he is at least 4.5 when I saw his rack was going downhill, took him out. This is what I was shooting through at 80-yards at 7:35 this morning.

.

Have not weighed him yet but he got heavy by the time I drug him 75-yards to the truck.

This is what his heart looked like. He ran about 30-yards and hit a tree.

Heard two bucks fighting back in the thicket early but then decided they were probably chorus frogs so I ignored them. Then at seven, two small bucks came by and then a doe got by me. I saw this one coming just bits and pieces and was able to coax him close by clicking like a frog. At 80-yards, he hit a small opening and I took the shot. He jumped like a frog and ran right toward the truck. Wishe he had gone a little further.

I'm proud I got him drug out and loaded all by my very ownself. Ten deer, two toikies and coyote will about do me for TN. For sure I'm going to rest that thicket. This is the 14th deer I have killed from this stand over the years. I don't even hunt it until the leaves are off the trees but it is my #1 buck producer.

Just thinking-that rack is a lot bigger and way more unique than it shows in the picture. I'm thinking I might do a euro mount with it.

I thought it was too warm to kill mature bucks!!

Saw a good buck this morning with a doe just 20 yds off the road while driving to work today.

Congrats!!

Yeah, lotta people think that. You just have to know how to sound like a fwog. :)

Gotta guy coming to get thisun in a bit so it all came together nicely.

Seriously, more deer hunters need to study and understand weather patterns and how they affect deer movement. This morning was ideal and deer, especially bucks, were moving from daylight on.

Congrats. Early this morning I heard a cougar scream behind my house, but then decided it was just a frog. Then when I heard it again, I realized it was coming from much further off.... In the direction of Lebanon, and it sounded just like you were calling your pet buck into gun range.

No, that was my barber, Randy. I showed him your picture. He said, "Is that the girl that works at the car wash?" He screamed when I told him you were a he.

please don't hint at my secret, I don't want people to know I scare deer to death and then stick an arrow in them for the pictures...

You know, funny thing. That buck walked the samw trail I did less than 45-minutes after I walked in. I was wearing my tennis shoes, too. And I was only 12-feet up the tree. I had a narrow opening to shoot through and this is where it hit.

Congrats BW. 2 questions:

1. did you measure the base of his left antler? That sucker looks pretty thick?
2. What is the monopod attached on your gun? Be cool to have for stands that don't have a railing.

1-nah, big though. The whole rack is a quite abit larger than it looks in the picture as does the entire deer. That was a big sucker.

The monopod is a Knight and Hale thing that I have used for years. Have one on all my guns and my crossbow came with one. It fits against you waist or hip and gives you a rock solid rest, standing or sitting.
