With 5 days until the start of deer season, let's see some of your guy's velvet hunt targets your wanting to place an arrow through.

Some nice deer there. That nontypical appears young. Id say he will end out something amazing in a yr or 2

Got these two guys showing up twice a day every day. Not my biggest target but they're consistent enough for the velvet hunt.

I don't think he is. But it's hard to tell this time of year. If I manage to get an arrow in him I will save the teeth

Legs looking long, no belly swag, and hams not real defined, heck he looks just like my prom date now that I think of it

the way he randomly showed up, and some of the daytime pictures make me think he's an older deer moving back toward his original home range. A lot of deer leave the property when they reach 4 years. I won't ever know unless I kill him but I pretty much quit guessing age based on summertime pics because it's not accurate. Here's a couple different angles

:rotf: I hear ya. But I have a different thought on the other end of the spectrum. I've never seen a real young deer with all those stickers, or soda can pedicles. Maybe he's so skinny because it took all his nutrition to grow them horns!!! I bet he's over 6yrs & has no teeth left. Cat should kill him so we can find out for sure.

I agree on aging deer in the summertime, heck it's just a guess any time of the year. Based on the other pic angles I am prone to think he may be older.

I got on the third buck pictured Saturday and Sunday evening and missed the mark on setup location by about 200 yds. The buck entered the field with 20 minutes left of light and I attempted a last ditch effort to stalk. I got within 80 before I ran out of light and terrain cover in the bean field unfortunately the field was a double crop soybean field and the beans were only 18" tall. I believe I could have crawled to within bow range haf they'd been taller but that's the way it goes
