I have a usb charger for my phone in my tracker. Previous owner installed it. It has a blue led light that stays on I guess to show power. If I can disable the light will the port still work and does it still draw power when not in use. Have to leave my boat at storage and don't want light to drain battery in between uses. Something is draining my battery and it's the only thing that stays in.

yeah you can put a switch but youll probably have the same problem. a usb led only pulls max 50ma of current. it would take 3-6 months to deplete a battery. if you have lead acids and dont charge them for that long of a period they will self discharge anyway.

some mfd's have auto power on, like a garmin, turn it off if it does. the cpu pulls up 2a. some dum dums think that the livescope power led runs their battery down but its the mfd not the gls10.

I had hex nuts but replaced with wing nuts so I could pull batteries out during winter easier. Why not wing nuts?
theyve been known to cause fires and motor electrical problems by coming loose or being stripped out so the ABYC changed their rule to not allow them on conductors larger than 8awg.

One of these
