Anybody know whats up with no crops on the WMA fields this year? I took a walk out on Percy Preist his weekend and the fields are over grown! just about over my head in some places

Those fields are leased out to farmers, so maybe no one wanted to farm them this year or they couldn't get planted in time because of the wet weather? I was poking around another WMA this weekend and there were crops most everywhere they are usually planted. Those overgrown fields aren't just good places to rabbit hunt, but also good places to deer hunt. Weeds=deer food + cover.

I heard the area manager was done with the sharecropper over on priest... Not sure if it's for good or not?

I figured that may be the case. He did plant the one field by the Nissan PDC on the right as you come towards M'boro with beans. I haven't seen another field with crops on them.

However someone bush hogged the fields down by the speedway, so now they're just open grass fields.... I would have let em grow if I wasn't gonna plant them, but that's just me.

That share cropper was trying to tell me the boundaries of the area I was in were way smaller than what the map shows. I obliged but did not take his word next time I went out.

Last season word was TWRA was going toward more of a native browse stating it provided more food and longer into the season....no more crop fields
