Phenomenal real life footage, thanks for sharing. What is the clump of material in front of the nest?
I understand trying to help, often times it doesn't work out. It's some feed I put out for her so she wouldn't need to leave the nest long for food.
Ditto, and many times, it works against the animal, just as it may have in this scenario. The feed has an odor/aroma that may have brought about unintended consequences. Something to think about going forward.I understand trying to help, often times it doesn't work out.
That's a shame. The yotes probably came back in a pack or ambushed her. I hate yotes.Unfortunately, the hen was dead two days later. I don't have video of it because my night mode was set to 15 seconds. I was really looking forward to watching that family grow up.

Shooting and trapping the coyotes, raccoons, possums, and crows is probably the best way to help.
Could have been a raccoon, could have been a bobcat, could have been a coyote.I do not. I only saw feathers at the nest site.
