trigger adjustment on AR15

I have a SW M&P Sport AR15 does anyone know if the factory trigger is adjustable?

It is not adjustable but can be tuned by someone knowledgeable. Bill Springfield has been tuning them for years and is pretty well thought of by most. I have never used his tune up services so don't have first hand knowledge.

You can cut the springs a little and get a softer trigger or buy replacement springs that are better than factory. Sanding the contact surface makes a difference on the smoothness, but sanding too much can make an auto out of it..

There are replacement drop in trigger kits available that are great, for a price....

I just installed my trigger after getting it modified by Bill Springfield. I haven't shot my gun yet, but it seems like it's going to be really nice. He has several different pull weights available.

How would you recommend cutting the torsion springs? Also, what grit sandpaper would you use for the contact surfaces?

the Timneys are decent drop in triggers without spending a fortune,,

I have been called a trigger snob for 30 years,but I like the trigger on my AR to be pretty solid,as long as the second stage is under 5 lbs and clean I am happy with it for its intended purpose,

I was going to try to clean up my trigger on my DPMS bull barrel AR. Groups very well but had 7# of pull and lots of creep.

Was going to sand with 600 gtit sandpaper and trim the springs 1/4", but wound up buying a Timney replacement.

The Timney went in today in about 10 min. Feels great with about 3# of pull which is fine. Going to range tomorrow to see how it really feels with live rounds...

If you're going to screw with your interaction surfaces, don't use sandpaper. Use a stone file.

Don't mess with the springs.
