Based on the responses posted here, I went another direction.
:Hornady Sabot SST 250gr
I've got a buddy that shoots these and really likes them on deer. Plus they had great reviews with a lot of dead buck photos on Midway USA's website. So I bought them from Midway.

I have also had success with the fair priced Hornady 240 grain XTP's. A few years back we found a closeout deal on Nosler Jim Shockey branded 300 grain BT bullets. We've taken five deer that never left our sight after being hit.

We found the 240 gr XTP's penetrate through the deer, which leaves a nice blood trail. A few deer ran around 100 yards after front rib shot.

Some of the heavier 300 grain BT's stopped in the opposite shoulder. However, the massive energy dropped the deer immediately.
 
300 grain Hornady SSTs for me in my Knight Wolverine/LK93. Touching groups at 50 and 100 yards. Boom, smoke, Dead Right There!

Something to note, if you go into it thinking you're gonna shoot a specific bullet type and weight, you may be disappointed. Muzzleloaders can be finicky to get the right combination of powder charge, bullet weight, and bullet type. The 300 grain SSTs and XTPs I've shot, with two 777 pellets of powder are great in my gun. Put a 240 or 260 grain bullet in it and I get 6" groups.
 
These any good? Came with an Accura I picked up used and shoot well.

Have a CVA Optima V2, I use 90 grains Blackhorn 209 by volume and for bullet Hornady 44 Cal 265 GR FP Interlock with a black crush sabot. Typical shot is less than 100 yards. I always go for high shoulder to drop the deer instantly and have seen this setup go through both shoulder blades. Been hunting for 15 years now and have always had a complete pass through.
 
Barnes Expander 250 hollow point with 3 whote hots. They leave a drain hole, but you wont need the drain hole because the deer wont make it out of site.
 
I'll add that my CVA wolf and Acura have both loved the harvester sabots. I used knight sabots for years and years out of caplocks and was very successful with them. When I went to CVA inlines they didn't like the knight sabots at all. At the recommendation of several on here I tried Harvester sabots and have never looked back. They are MUCH easier to load than anything else I've tried and the most accurate which was most important.

I just bought a CVA Wolf, with the starter outfit kit. Hope to shoot it this weekend. How well do the bullets in this kit perform on whitetail? I was looking at Areos, but I hate to site in with these if they perform well. Any experience in the woods?

Get some Barnes solid copper 250gr killed more deer than any round I've ever owned usually no pass through they petal out and rip insides out of deer! My two cents,,,
