Where is the best and cheapest place to buy these? Seems no local places have them. I though the co-op surely would but last year they looked at me like I was stupid when I asked.
Miracle tubes are the best Ive ever used, easiest, longest lasting.Use conduit cut in half for stakes.I personally like the nets to keep the birds out cause I guarantee for every 100 trees you put in a tube,a bird will get in one and die and that kills the trees most times.
Regarding what DiamondHunter said about the conduit for stakes. I agree - not specifically about using conduit - just don't use wood stakes. You'll save very little up front then save nothing when you have to replace all the rotten wood stakes after about a year.
I used Plantra 60" tubes and am happy with them. At 3 years old they are holding up very well and made a BIG difference in how fast the trees grew compared to trees I planted before with no tubes. These are the only tubes I've used though so have no idea how they compare to others.
Here's where I got my tubes and stakes. I originally got wood back when they sold them then got a bunch of the fiberglass ones shown on the website now. They are made like a channel iron as far as their cross-section and should last for many trees.
