So first let me say we're hobby trappers, my son and I. Other than reading and watching others online, we've been learning by trial and error. More error than anything. When we started turkey hunting and learning about nest raiders and such, we have been trying our hand at trapping. We run a small string of traps in the fall on our place consisting of dog proof and live traps. This year we added a few foot hold traps to try and snag some yotes. We found a trail at a fence row going from hardwood to pasture, the bob wire even had a little hair on it. We set us a trap, just hoping to have a coyote in it, well no yote but we'll take it. Think we'll use ole Mr possum for some bait in our dirt hole sets. I took a picture of one of our dog proofs we set around a pond. This trap was several feet back from the water line, but not anymore. That shows how much rain we got between last night and this morning here. I've had a lot of fun learning what works and what doesn't.

Added one more grinner to the list yesterday. All other traps untouched. Might give them a few more days and pull them for a new location, if we don't see anymore action.

Gorgeous animals!! When did you get all those?!
We been at it for about 2 1/2 weeks now
It will only get better. We have in total about 31 sets in the ground and it averages about 1 to 4 catches every other night. The one thing we have really noticed is we do alot better on a warm up after a cold spell than any other time
