Tough luck but good to be out in the woods today

I went deer hunting from 2-4.30 pm today. So quiet in the woods. Just few squirrels. Didn't see a deer. But felt great to be out in the woods.

I was out of the country from Nov 11 and probably missed the best of rut times. Returned home yest and hit the woods today. Maury county. Hopefully I can connect with a deer this season some time later.

I didn't go hunting much during bow season. Just once. And then took a youth in Oct juvi and he shot a doe. Was just trying to see if not using the place frequently made any difference in the deer I see for rifle season. Well, probably not much difference. Lol.

Lots of deer pics on the forum. Been enjoying those. Congrats to every successful member here!

I hunted this morning and seen one spike ,woods was quiet also in Maury County .

I hunted all day and didn't see a deer until less than 15 minutes of legal light left. Had an hour and a half drive home and top a little rise 5 minutes from home and a small buck is standing right in the middle of the road. Slam brakes on and he trots off. Just my luck!
