When I finally got down to it, i figured my rough season was caused by frosted honey buns.

FINALLY, someone has gone through all the complex causality factors and determined the real problem! ;)

Thanks TNRifleman. Now, when my clients ask why this year sucked so much, I can confidently tell them their problems can all be blamed on your frosted honey buns!

That's a very candid assessment. I could stand to lose some weight myself. It definitely is harder to carry an extra 30-40 lbs. I'm 5-11 and weigh 265. I need to lose 25-35 pounds so next season will be easier.

I am in. I had a fairly decent year this year. However, one of the reasons that I didn't make it to one of my better places this year was because of the honeybun factor as it is a long haul in. Another factor is that I was hunting a big deer in another place and the lack of sign in the other area. However, it did contribute. I really need to lose about 20 lbs myself.

After reading this thread, I suddenly feel better about my weight!

(5' 11" and 168 pounds [and would like to lose a few pounds out of my protruding gut])

I hunted the whole month of December, I was in decent shape by the time season closed. But can already tell the difference being at work all day instead of being in the mountains, walking the hollers and hills.

I'm thinking I need exercise to gain strength rahter than just lose weight. I had leg cramps twice and the first one I thought was gonna rip my kneecap off.

BTW, I cut my coke consumption in half and lost my gut inside of 6 months, maybe 3. Now I have cut it in half again. Gonna keep wearing these Stanley work boots and may get some leg weights.

Mark,
You ain't right...the heck with getting in shape...just buy a 4 wheeler.

Sorry I couldn't meet you for lunch today but let's go next week. We can go for pizza, cheese burgers and fries or nachos at El Porton.

You're pretty sure it was the honey buns though, right?

We're going to see it tomorrow I think. I've been on-call this week so sleep has been in just short stints every night. Pretty tired for sure.

Are you going to set up your new bow tomorrow? If so, holler at me and I'll ride with you.

That is funny - I am in worse shape at the end of deer season every year. 2012 season was the only exception - for some reason I was able to maintain my excercise and eating habits that year. But usually during deer season - I get out of my normal routine of walking 15-20 miles a week, my eating habits get out of whack - as my schedule gets out of whack. I do a lot of walking - scouting and stuff - but I normally gain weight. As much as it disgusts me - after keeping the 25lbs I lost off for almost 2 years, I gained quite a bit of it back this deer season. But, with the help of the Lord, I am getting back on track and hope to lose it over the next few months.

5' 11" and from 168 down to 142 pounds. If I lost any more I'd get blown out of the stand. I can't gain it back no matter what, when, or how I eat.
