Pondering ordering 500 more pines to plant. Delivery would be 2 to 3 weeks meaning it could be 3/30 before I get them if I ordered today. I am out of town the weekend of 3/28 and 3/29 meaning the planting would occur most likely on the weekends of 4/4 and 4/11.

$ Investment in buying the trees is not much but the real investment is the time and hard work putting them in. Is it too late to plant? I am on the fence on this one.

You've got plenty of time. I've planted them all the way up to mid-may and had them turn out fine. Earlier the better, but planting season goes up to mid-may.

I figure if I can get the in by mid April, that will give them 6 weeks to establish their root system before the pain of the summer heat. Guess I'll be hoping for a rainy May!

hopnestly that cutting it a little close... if they are bare root, i would pot them up until fall. thats the best way to ensure a better survival, you can raise survival by %50.

I know I would be taking a risk, just trying to weigh the risk. I'll wait and let this post sit a day or so and try to get a feel for what the majority are saying.
