Seen quite a few birds this year but the toms are still all grouped up. Had 6 of them behind my house just strolling through the woods together. Seen them all grouped up in fields also.
Exactly.... but that's normal. Most years winter flocks dont break up into subflocks until last week of March. Subflocks further break into their final breeding flocks April 10th or so.
Zach...I know it's early....but you win best picture of the day award...my goodness that's beutiful.Still bunched up here too, normal for my area this time of year though.View attachment 172964

Unreal hatch 2 years ago and a really good hatch last year. Numbers are looking pretty dang strong this year. I've seen more birds all across Giles and Lawrence counties than I've seen in 10+ years.Goodness!!!! Haven seen a group like that in TN since the early 2000s!!!!

I've got a couple farms in Maury county on the Giles/Maury line. I listened yesterday morning and didn't hear a bird. They are there though.Just got off a high ridge in Maury cty close to the Giles line. Only heard 2 far off birds.. Could be the weather but the area USED to be loaded...
Open the gate or let them out of the fence and they may spread out some…Still bunched up here too, normal for my area this time of year though.View attachment 172964
