threw back a few small ones. My buddy actually out fished me using a slider jig under a bobber, but he released em all. I was using a slider under a bobber on one rod and night crawler under a bobber on another. Tough going between the two when they start biting good.

While cleaning, well over an hour after taking them out of the lake, a few were still twitching.... I decided to put one in water and he became a survivor....

He's in the 10 gal aquarium now with a bluegill less than half his size so I will have to get rid of him soon... just couldn't cut one up after reviving it....

As for the other 17 gills, I got over a pound of meat and plan to deep fry in peanut oil.... should be tasty

Show us a picture of a slider jig. I've caught zillions of fish on jigs but I don't know that particular one.
Actually I know what a slider jig looks like, I'm just confused that they make them small enough for bluegills.

The only thing that would make that better is to lose the A&W and replace it with a Sundrop.
Can't argue with that, I just happened to have an A&W that I left in the freezer the night before so it had to thaw out overnight. Sundrop is always my #1 choice... doesn't get any better than that.

I rigged one of these on a 1/64 oz Trout Magnet jig head and fished under a Trout Magnet EZ float... good combo for the gills (and crappie)

You look like Wilson in that pic!

I caught 21 bluegills two weeks ago, and another 24 yesterday afternoon. Used a 4 wt flyrod with a nymph 3 ft under a strike indicator. Fishing from shore at a park on Old Hickory.

I know that a nymph is a nymph and they all are great bream catchers, but I normally use a march brown.

These particular fish were caught on a pheasant tail. The one I use most often is an olive bead head wooly bugger size 10.

I have a box full of pheasant tails(and march browns). The pheasant tail probably looks better, but I started with the march browns, and if it aint broke don't fix it!
