In that pic, he will go over 200 lbs field dressed. And he is every bit of 5.5 maybe even 6.5

 

[Lost Lake]

Deer weighed 180 live weight field dressed 145. I honestly believe he had to have lost between 40 to 50 pounds in the months time of pic to harvest.

Wow! That buck really lost some weight. Just goes to show how much the rut can wear them down.

 

[Bad habit]

Live weight 235. I believe the numbers are that you will lose about 28% of weight when field dressing a buck and 33% when field dressing a doe. Those numbers may be backwards, though. I cant remember.

I killed a buck very similar to this body size dressed at 213

I was going to say 240 live.

But it really depends on the frame... a short deer will fool you with trail cam pics.

My son killed a 3.5yo that live wt 183 and looked skinny. His nose just touched the ground when we hoisted him on the gambrel.
I killed a 5.5 the next day that live wt 190 lbs but looked like 225. Had 8in of clearance between the ground and his nose.
