Any suggestions on a camera which send you the pix to your phone? I would like to purchase one over the counter. Bas pro academy Gander MT. I have seen the post on here before but I need as much details as you can give. How to get sim card ect...

Covert 3G gets my vote . SIM card from AT&T and a text only plan. Several stores will have them . Including the one in my signature

Thanks for the reply but You should be watching for deer not playing on your phone. lol. I will go check out what they have. You missed a good game last night. Better luck next year.
Congrats on the doe. How's the buck activity?

That's like saying you want to pay too much.

Gander Mtn wants $380 for the Covert Code Black 3G. After sales tax you're looking at around $418. Bass Pro, Cabela's and Academy don't sell Covert trail cams.

You can find it for under $300 with a quick Google search.

x2, I have two of the covert 3G's and they work well. Sometimes AT&T has tower issues and you can't communicate with the camera, but that's not Coverts fault

lol I thought that was you . I was starting to see some decent bucks on their feet and this warm weather has them hiding now . Still getting nighttime pictures . Got a few chases on camera last night .

The bushnell trophy cam is really nice and easier on the user to get up and running. However it is double the price of the covert.

I will be leaving out Friday...Im taking my bow. Hopefully they will be on the move this weekend. I read some reviews on that camera. How much trouble did you have getting it set up? I know reviews must be taken lightly because some people get upset over the smallest of things but there are several bad reviews. That's a lot of $$ so im now undecided.

Bushnell reviews are much better but dang!!!at the price

Covert code black. Make sure to get a 2014 unit as it is 3g. Take your camera to the AT&T store and ask to buy a sim card ($10) and a pre paid go phone account ($25/month). Before going to the store read your manual and understand how to set it up( it is easy). I have mine sent via text and I have 3 going in KY. Although I am tagged out I know exactly what the deer are doing and have really enjoyed it. I found them on line for $265/ camera but I bought him out and he cant get anymore till next season. Pm me if you have any questions or need help.

There is a you tube video out on setting up the Covert, walks you through step by step. Setup is not bad using the video. Also there are options for the amount of text you can receive a month, I lowered my plan down to 200 text/month and I believe its $9.99/month. The camera will only text you the first picture it takes out of whatever burst you have it set to, it takes about 1 minute for it to reset itself to be able to text again (although when you pull the card you can view all the pictures). In my area I rarely get over 5 text/day if that....

Maybe one day I will go this route. Chunk of change though to get going.

I think in the long run they are cheaper, especially for a person driving very far to check cams

I have an HCO http://www.amazon.com/HCO-SG580MB-Black ... ame+camera it works well and takes a AT&T sim card. It's always fun to wake up every morning and have 30 texts from the camera. I did have to send mine back to the manufacture because the sensor went out but they were great. These cameras are pretty expensive but if you drive a long ways to check your camera all the time then this will pay for itself quickly. If I can remember correctly they batteries would last about 30 days or a little longer. Amazon also sells and extension antenna for the camera but I always was able to get service even out in the swamp in GA.
