Give me early-stage regrowth and lots of weed fields!
Our place in south west tn has really growed up the past 2 years in briars, goldren rod, ragweed, sumac, partredge pea, ect.
My question is. How much crude protein is the in these types of natural browse in the winter time? I have many times seen deer feeding on completly dead or dormant plants. I have a book by Craig Harper that goes into the "cp" of this stuff mention above but I was wondering about it in the winter time.
Any thoughts?

I have a book by Craig A Harper (UT Extension) titled "A guide to succesful Wildlife Food Plots.

Find it and get a copy.

It has blend and tips for all TN species of game, Warm and Cool weather blends for deer.

Great information and very benificial to nice food plots that deer will visit.

Not only what to plant, but how to plant, fertilize, placement (bottomland or upland) and every other question you would have. Information is also based on plots in Tennessee and research done in TN.

I tried namebrands, but now get all seed and fertilizer from Co-op.

Per acre blend (annual)
50# forage oats
20# Austian Winter Peas
10# Crimson Clover
5# Yucchi Arrowleaf clover.
