D'addario musical instruments company has partnered with the TN Div. of Forestry to give away hardwood seedlings. If interested contact your TDOF area forester and ask about the program. If the program is successful this year it may be continued next year.

I don't know the name of the program other than the free hardwood seedlings courtesy of D'addario administered by the TDOF. Your area forester should know of the program.

Seedling Grant Program
D�Addario�s Play. Plant. Preserve. (DP3) Seedling Grant and Tree Planting Program is an initiative aimed at ensuring that the hardwood resources used for making drumsticks and mallets in Tennessee are sustainable. The program is funded by ProMark, a subsidiary of D�Addario & Company (pronounced D Ah�dare�e�oh) and is administered by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry (TDF). The goal of the program is to provide an avenue for the planting of five trees for every one that ProMark uses annually. Seedlings used for this program are grown at TDF�s East Tennessee Nursery located in Delano, TN and are provided at no cost to eligible Tennessee landowners.
Requirements for Eligibility
1. Landowners must have a tree planting prescription prepared or approved by a TDF forester.
2. Requests for 100 to 10,000 seedlings will be accepted when available. Larger plantings will be approved based on availability, need, and expected conservation benefits.
3. TDF personnel will assist with seedling selection and ordering.
4. Trees must be planted according to the Tree Planting Prescription. A field check may be required during and after the planting operation by TDF personnel.
5. Landowners must agree to maintain and protect planted seedlings for a minimum of 10 years.
6. This program is designed for conservation plantings only (i.e. non-ornamental).
