Opening day, my friends Greg and Cameron hunted with me in the morning on a small farm. Cameron got him one 5 minutes after flydown. I was able to call one in during the late afternoon.
As much as I wanted to hunt all last week, I didn't, because I had the Oak Ridge quota hunt this past weekend. I've had good luck over there, and it continued on Sunday morning. Hunted with my friend Dave bot days. At daylight Sunday, I was within 75 yards of a gobbler on the roost, two others a couple hundred yards to the west, and 3 more about 150 yards to the east. The 75 yard bird never gave me a shot. But the threesome came in. One of them got a free ride to the checking station. NO spurs, and looked like his leg had been broken at one time.
I think my deer antler turkey tote makes a good pic!
Now I gotta get ready for my Nebraska hunt!!
