So I went hunting in the rain a while back. A tiny bit of surface rust has shown up on my allen screws on my bow as well as the poundage allen screws.

I've wiped it all off as best I can... any ideas on prevention or fixing it?

a buddy of mine showed me a trick. take some flat black model car paint and brush it on any bolts that have rusted a little or any you want to prevent from rusting. works pretty good.

i actually got bored one night, had my dremel tool out wiht the polishing tip on it. I took the compound that came with the kit and just polished the rusty bolts with it. they havent rusted since and still look new.

I had the same thing happen after opening weekend of archery season this year. I used some CLP from my gun cleaning kit and a few Qtips. Cleaned it right off after just a few minutes. I then left a light coating of CLP on the allen screws. Rust has not reappeared.
