Food Plots Sunflowers at 25 days from planting

this is a 6 acre field planted on April 29, 2015

real clean at this point in time

24 ounces of Treflan per acre incorporated into soil about 10 days before planting
as I was planting I was spraying out of the back of the planter 4 ounces of Spartan Herbicide and 2 ounces of insecticide per acre
on May 12, 2015 I sprayed 16 ounces of "Dual" over the top of all sunflower fields

my next step will be to run the "hooded spray rig" to help keep the middles clean, this will be done just before the plants are knee high

if you want to stay clean you must start clean, growing sunflowers is real easy, its the weeds and grasses that cause all of the problems

imo, you are wasting money with clearfield technology, just do your research on the proper chemicals and the correct zone of application, basically all weeds that the chemical Beyond states that they kill/control we resistant to the Beyond Chemical before they were resistant to Roundup/gly-4, according to the chemical reps that I discussed in depth with this spring at the Helena Chemical steak dinner

its not all about how much money you might make, its all about producing a productive crop that is weed free, this is my goal

study the chemicals "Aim and Direx" mixed together and sprayed with a "hood", this is my next weed clean up strategy, different herbicides for different weeks
