Hi folks, its Rick from Reelfoot Lake Tenn. My nephew and I carried my coon dogs out tonight after all the rain that we have had. They were getting all hiper needing to get out in the woods, since it had been a couple of weeks since they've been out. Thought about going down in the river bottoms, but due to all the rain that we've had in the past two weeks, that knocked that ideal in the head as we have back water on the rise here. So we decided to take to the hills and try our luck beings the cooler weather has kinda put a damper on the copperheads and rattlers for the time being. We turned them loose at 7:30 and by 7:50, they had their first coon treed on a creek bank. We got to them and I shot it out, as luck would have it, the dang thing fell directly into the creek. Sue wasted no time hitting the water after it. The coon fell in about 2 foot of water and the fight was one. By the time I could get down the creek bank to them, the coon was dead. Heres a picture of the 10.3 lb sow. She looks like a drowned rat by the time the dogs got finished with her, lol.

After we got the first coon put away, we turned the dogs loose again and by 8:30, they were treed again, this time up a big oak tree rigth off of the creek. When I got to them and shot this coon out, they were more than ready to tackle it when it hit the ground. It really never knew what happened, as the dogs finished him off quickly This coon turned out to be a hughe boar that ended up weighing 26.7 lbs. Talk about a hoss, he was one.
