Summit Stands are the Best stands ever!!

They are light, they are comfortable, and they really bite into a tree.
Unfortunately if it is dark and you lower your arrows against the tree
they really bite through carbon arrow shafts also. LOL :bash:

My specialist is awesome. My only drawback is the noisiness of the aluminum...if I'm very slow and patient I can slip in on a buck bed withing 60-70 yards...I did this 2 weeks ago and actually set up and.climbed the tree with two small bucks 20 yards away undetected...love my summit

I do love my summit but wish there was a simpler way to attach the seat (or not have to remove to pack the stand out).

Summits are super quiet to put on the tree and climb.

Yes, great climbers. Just this evening I had a deer trot up to about 30 yards of me and stop behind a cedar tree. I waited about 30 minutes and it never moved so i climbed down with my Razor and eased on out. As far as I can tell the deer never moved. Never heard bolt or a step.

So with that being said, I'm about to post a Summit Goliath for sale in the classifieds. Almost new. Purchased last week and hunted 3 times. Will come with new in bag "seat o the pants" harness and strap.

Just use the bungee that goes around the tree to wrap the seat up. Then push it forward and climb.

That doesn't happen with ladder stands

I've seen many a ladder stand make a metallic "crack" on a cold, still morning --- have never had a Summit climber make such a deer-spooking noise as a metal ladder stand.

The climber is as quite as the user.

I will have to disagree, I hate how my Summit goes together to carry it. My API is much better and bites a tree like a pit bull.

I don't know about API but I been thinking about trying one out. Thing is you hardly ever see them in the classifieds where the summits are?

I had an API years ago. I can't remeber the name of it but it was a bow hunter design. It was a very good stand. I thought the plastic coating over the chains didn't hold up great though...

Love it or hate it, with experience, it can be quick and quite, especially if you rubber coat much of your stand, then wrap it in camo Gorilla duct tape.
(Gorilla camo duct tape is the only brand I've found that is dull, non-reflective.)

And I usually leave my seat on the climber when packing in/out.

But I admit, it is much more "convenient" to use a ladder stand.
(And the best way to ruin a good spot is to place a ladder stand there.)

That is not exactly a true statement...our best big deer spots have ladder stands and we see big deer pretty often. Now if you hunt them wrong they can ruin a good spot. A climber can ruin a good spot just as easily as a ladder stand positioned at the correct time.

I just like the way the API fits together and grips the tree, dont get me wrong the summit is a fine stand though.
