took my wife's cousin turkey hunting today, he had never been before. after a couple set ups resulting in nothing we decided to ride around and look for some fresh sign after the rain. found some big tracks on the side of the road that led up the mountain. we got our things together and hit the mountain, and you talk about a steep hill. after stopping to catch our breath i see a turkey up the hill that never saw us but it was thick something awful. let it get out of sight and ease around the opposite side. set down and called and nothing, about that time he says i see something down the road. i look and my first thought wow big turkey. looking closer i realize it's about a 300 pound hog coming down the logging road, looking closer i see he has 3 more with him. needless to say we eased back down the other way haha, still had fun
