Squirrel Time

Late August and September are a great time for squirrels due to them usually being concentrated around hickories but I did not see that many this year. Now in late October they are very abundant. I guess they have finally exhausted the mast where they were and have moved into my hunting areas. While deer hunting or scouting, I'm seeing them everywhere. Lots of activity on the ground. It's hard to decide to grab the archery gear or the squirrel rifle on these beautiful October mornings.

I've been seeing them everywhere but a lot of times they're out of range. I don't know why but I keep thinking I can sneak up on them, it never works. Next weekend I'll stay put until they come my way. You're right though, they're all over the place.
