Check out camera land they are having a fall clearance on a bunch of good optics right now .

Camera Land's Fall Clearence Sale - Part 2

I announced this sale the other day with Part 1 (Riflescopes and Binoculars) and now it is time to continue with Spotting Scopes, Cameras and Tripods. Once I get thru this I will post Part 3 which will be a list of last of items (stuff we've got 1 left of at very reduced prices)

The prices posted here are for members of the forum who, thru the years, have supported us. If the price on our web site is higher than what is posted here you can do do one of two things:
1) Place the order on our site and in the note area type "Camera Land's Fall Clearence Sale" and we will issue a refund back to your payment method down to these special prices
2) Call in your order to us at the store @ 212-753-5128

When it comes to spotting scopes there are many things to consider. Mainly, what are you using it for? The Range? The Field? Birding? Hunting? Digiscoping?
The other questions to ask are...
Is color resolution as important as stronger magnification?
Will you want interchangable eyepieces?
Do you want something there is a reticle eyepiece available for?
All valid considerations.

In a great quality, general use spotter we have some, same as new condition, show samples of the Minox MD 62 Straight (Part#62210) w/ 20-45x Zoom Eyepiece which sell for $848.00 new that we are offering for only $349.99

If a higher quality spotting scope is what you'd like and you would like to pay for an average quality one then grab one of these show sample Minox MD 62 ED Angled (Part#62213) with 20-45x Zoom Eyepiece @ 50% off of the $1098.00 it usually sells for. Only $549.99 while supply lasts. The ED offers richer color resolution and a high quality image.

In something smaller and handier, that you can always take with you, we have, as new, open box show samples of the:

#62226 MD-50 Straight Spotting Scope @ $189.99 reduced from $299.99

#62225 MD-50 Angled Spotting Scope @ $189.99 reduced from $299.99

The #62225 MD-50 Spotting Scope is small enough to carry in the water bottle holder on your pack. It is a great "Take everywhere" spotter.

With something this small and handy you may wish to use it with the Stedi-Stock Camera & Sport optic Shoulder Brace This will help you hold a spotting scope stable without the weight of a tripod.

If a high end spotter is what you're looking for with Digiscope quality featuring high color resolution as well as interchangable eyepieces then the Pentax PF80-ED Straight is one that you should consider. The PENTAX PF-80ED features extra low dispersion glass elements, a large 80 mm objective lens, and a nitrogen filled (JIS Class 6) waterproof body for the perfect blend of durability and outstanding image quality even under the most demanding conditions.
We have a package on this that includes:
*Pentax PF80-ED - The Straight Spotting Scope
*Pentax SMC 20-60x Zoom Zoom Eyepiece
*Promaster SHD Tripod
*Tripod Case
*Nikon Window Mount
*Lens Care Kit
This package goes for over $1400.00, but during this clearance it is only $1099.99 - Limited Quantity

In a Vortex the news is the 4 units that are new for 2011:
*Vortex Viper 15-45x65 Spotter available in Straight or Angled @ $449.99
*Vortex Viper 20-60x80 Spotter available in Straight or Angled for $699.99
*Vortex Viper HD 15-45x65 Spotter available in Straight or Angled for $549.99, only $100.00 more than the Non-HD version.
*Vortex Viper HD 20-60x80 Spotter available in Straight or Angled for $799.99, only $100.00 more than the non-HD version.

In their top of the line, with interchangable eyepieces is their Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85 Spotter available in Straight or Angled. This scope has an optional HD 30X Wide Angle Eyepiece as well as the HD 30X R/T Tactical Eyepiece.
The wide-angle nature of the Razor 30x eyepiece reveals a field of view that is wider than what you would see at 30x through the 20-60x zoom eyepiece. The fixed-power design also provides slightly better resolution than the zoom eyepiece. Vortex's unique R/T ranging reticle provides precise target range estimation.

You can turn any point & shoot camera into a Digiscoping camera with your spotting scope by using the Nikon Universal Mounting Bracket (Part#6926) Universal Mounting Bracket (allows use of camcorders, digital camcorders, digital cameras, 35mm cameras with spotting and field scopes). This is usually $199.99, however, if you want to add one to your spotting scope purchase we will offer it for only $99.99.

I have a Vortex Sandpiper that I spend a couple of hours a week looking through and I am happy with it. Yesterday I spent some time looking through a new Redfield it was very good for around 229$. It got fuzzy on 60x but I was counting antler points at 600 yards easily on 40x.For the money I think you would be happy.

thanks for the advice...still looking and trying to decide. The problem with going to sporting good stores is that you can't go outside with the scopes to see how they look.....but, I guess that you can't take a gun outside and shoot it either...lol.

thanks again

I bought a Redfield Rampage a couple months ago. Very nice spotter for the money. I can see 22 holes at 300 yds with ease. They can be had new for around $200.
