How many ounces to the gall do you use to kill grass and weeds without killing the clover? Thanks

I have, for years, sprayed my clover fields with 2.5 cups of 45% gly in a 25 gallon sprayer and traveled at around 5 miles an hour. Wish I could tell you the gpm of my sprayer. I have some fields that are on their seventh year and still going strong. I do cut them lightly (set my disc straight) each fall and over seed with wheat. I've tried the Cleth and all the other magic herbicides and they do work but nothing like gly at a light dose, in my opinion. Be careful at places like your turns so you don't over spray. It will stunt your clover if over sprayed. This has been proven but I'm sure others have other thoughts.

I did three oz of gly to 3.5 gallons of water in my backpack sprayer and hit the parts of my plots that are covered in weeds. Smart weed and sericea lespedeza are two of the worst weeds.

Hopefully when I come back in a month, the weeds will be dead and still have some clover.

I sprayed some plots 2 weeks ago with 2.5 oz. / gal. of 41% gly. The only thing left alive was the clover. If your worried about it, go work 2 oz a gal. and you should have no problem at all.

Do you have name of the GLY 41% or any other gly you suggest getting weeds out of the clover? You get it at co-op? I have tried the bush hog recommendation by the local coop but it doestn tend to help very long. the first year I had clover it was waist high with blooms everywhere , year 2 has passed and it really wasn't much to brag about. I have two 1 acre plots of red, crimson, ladino, white mix
THanks!

IMO you are taking a big risk trying to kill weeds in a clover patch using Roundup. If you go a bit strong and kill the clover, you've now got to spend the money you were trying to save on chemicals for more seeds to replant your clover. If you buy Clethodime and 2-4DB in the big 2 1/2 gallon jugs, they aren't too expensive. The main advantage to using the proper chemicals though is that you don't have to worry about killing the very plants you are trying to save.
