I typically clean the oil out of the bore and send a couple down range the week of muzzleloader to confirm my POI.

When will y'all get to shoot before 11/7/15?

I have shot mine on about 4 different occasions already. I got a go get some more bh209 and sabots

the one and only "ImThere"

So you guys that have already shot and sighted in have y'all gone ahead and loaded the gun for season?

I guess the reason I shoot the week before season starts is cause I go ahead and load it for season. The less time loaded the better IMO.

I shoot muzzle loaders year round with fixed iron sites. I haven't shot the one I plan on hunting with yet, but will soon. I suspect it will hit right where it did the last time I touched one off in it.

Shot mine last weekend and was not happy with the results. I changed to BH209 last year. I started off with 120gr and found out quickly that my gun doesn't like that so I switched to the low end and tried 70gr and it shot great so I just kept it at 70. But last weakened I couldn't get it to act rite for some reason so yesterday I tried 90gr with ok results. I am going to shoot it more at different distances so I know what to expect.

I plan on shooting mine toward the end of this week, as soon as it dries up. I'll shoot my ml and my rifles to check zero.

I had mine bore sighted, no need for any target shooting....

... just kidding. I usually shoot mine 1-2 weeks before the opener as well.

Don't most people just get their dealer to site them in for them and then go hunting with them out to 200 yards? :)

Went to Laurel Hill last week on the WMA MZ hunt so I checked POI on wed before that thurs hunt to be sure. Dead on at 50 yds and this is the most typical
distance I usually kill at though I shot one at 100 yds a in 09. Friday evening right at 6 here comes the only deer I have seen that evening and it is a 16" spread
8 pt with 8" G2 and 3's. Aim carefully at 55 yards and pull the trigger..............missed.......................badly. Couldn't believe my eyes, he just came forward about 5 yds and
stared at the smoke clearing away from my stand. Cked POI again...........almost 2 ft high and almost a foot right................un freaking believeable............. I have NEVER had such
an idiotic change of POI!!! Took the scope of and re torqued the bases and rings over to specs and the bases were probably only at 20in/lbs rather than 30. this may or may not have been the
real issue, but I was sick. This is an omega BDC scope that I have had a few years with NO failures or POI change before, I didn't drop, bump or otherwise anything to this gun or scope. Go
figure on that one. It took over 50 clicks of adjustment to correct it. Will check this gun again before the statewide MZ opens as I have taken a really good buck with the MZ for several years now.

Over 50 clicks? I would be finding myself a new scope.

50 clicks sounds like someone sighted in at 50 yards vs 100.

Some people aren't aware a 4 clicks 1" scope at 100 yards is 8 clicks 1" at 50. ~50 clicks would be about 6" at 50.

A few weeks ago already. Switched back from BH209(won't ignite in my pre 2009 CVA BP) to Pyrodex. Gonna hit it again next week if I can, just for a little more peace of mind.

I may count clicks when I get close but that far off

I will shoot one or two then put the cross hairs back to point of aim then move the crosshairs to the point of impact.

I am usually within a click or three at that point. I can usually get one sited in within 5 shots or less.

Checked the zero on my Knight MK last Saturday. Moved it up just a bit and am so ready for next Saturday. Hoping the weather cooperates. Ready to restock the freezer.

I try to not wait until too close to the season since the range usually gets busy.

Shooting mine Saturday, should be right whet I left it last season.
LOVE MZ season, taking the first week off, coupled with weekends, 9 days to hunt. :super:

You lucky dog! Good luck buddy! I expect to see the first pics too!

I sent two downrange today and won't touch it again. This was 100 yards BH209 and 250 grain Hornady SST. First shot was the one an inch right and 2nd one is the fouled bore shot. I'm pleased. Should be good to 150 with a little hold over.

Let me add I'm shooting a first generation CVA Accura. It's the 27" barrel but doesn't have the quick release breech plug.

Now I did swab the bore with a few dry patches but won't break it down and clean it till after mzl season. Barrel should be fine I suppose [emoji3]

I shot mine a couple weeks ago. It was not good. We moved a couple months ago and it must've got bumped around. It was about 8" to the right at 50 yards. Its usually right on or pretty close. Anyway I managed to get it sighted back in. I'm ready.
