Was wading a small creek behind the inlaws and managed to catch about a four lb smallie, to fish for them in a creek what would you recomend using I caught this one on a rooster tail. I never even knew they were smallies in there let alone that big! oh I also wore the red eyes out!
 
Rooster tail works good but hangs to much for me. Try a 4 inch slider worm with a slider head. Its deadly on redeye and smallies.
 
1/8 ounce black buzzbait, AC shiner, Rooster tails in 1/6 ounce if you can find them. Sliders, black or brown can be killers.

no I didnt take my phone or a camera never anticipated catching anything like that, heck in places its not anlke deep, thanks for all the advice, and the rooster tail did work good but I caught alot of grass but I did catch quite a few fish.
 
In a small creek you will never go wrong with a ZOOM FAT ALBERT 4 IN GRUB in CHARTRUECE AND PEPPER. and a jig head. thats all i use in the creek and they always bight. and its also heck on blackpurch

Ditto except I like Watermelon, Green Pumpkin, and Rootbeer.
