skipjack @ steam plant ????

can you load the livewells with skipjack at the steam plant now ?
want to get all the catfishin cutbait I need for the summer,,but need to try to do it in one trip down if possible...

Your right on about the skipjack or TN Tarpon below Melton Hill, as we fly boys like to call them. A good diversion if you are not catching stripers.

What do you think it was that killed them off or just cyclical?

i'm hoping it's just cyclical but i really have no idea. i like the 12-18 inch fish live for stripers but the last couple of years, they have been rare to nonexistant. what few we did catch were 3-5 lbs.

I can spend half the day chasing them around at the steamplant and maybe fill a cooler, or I can make the drive down to Pickwick dam and catch 1000lbs by 2pm or so.

And not have to launch or clean the boat. :cool:
