I was out playing with my metal detector today and came across and old shotgun shell . It had a paper case ,of course the paper was long gone .the brass has Federal monark no 16 on it . I have been searching on the net to maybe get an idea of how old it might be . Im thinking 40s 50s or 60s . Anyway I just started metal detecting and have never found much except old coke cans .
I know the shell isn't worth nothing ,but it sure is neat thinking about who might of been hunting down there so many years ago. So does anybody know anything that might help

I found one of those Federal Monark No 12 a few days ago. My father says he remembers buying them as late as the early 70's. I also found a couple that he had never seen.
One is stamped "REM-UMC NEW CLUB No 12" and the other one is "WINCHESTER REPEATER No 12"
Also found a Peters .410 base.
