My son and I fished the Tennessee river in Chattanooga after the storm this morning. We were fishing for bass but caught these.

Nothing wrong with that! I've caught lots of gar but at some point this summer, I'm hoping to actually target them on a fly rod.
I've never caught a Gar, yet.
He didn't fight much at all. Like pulling in a brick. Saw him hit crank bait, thought it was a big bass by the swirl, then starting reeling and he came right in. Now, the gar was a fight and a half. Especially when we got him in the boat and tried to get lure out.
