I had an old, old friend that grew up in Maury County around Sante Fe the early part of last century. After all the farming chores were laid by in the fall, him and his hunting buddy would drive the old model T up to Nashville to the Sears and Roebuck and buy themselves their shotgun shells for their quail hunting endeavors. His quail hunting stories were amazing....killing a big mess of birds and never jumping the same covey twice.
