Had a bunch of does in the field tonight had a doe in estrus bag hung up had 1 doe just keep smelling all the way across the field she went behind me and came out to the estrus bag I made a horrible shot she broke the broadhead off inside her we fount tons of blood drops then like you take a cup of blood and pour it I followed the blood trail and somehow it leads back to the arrow I went left forever and then ends back around to what appears where she went in I have never had a deer circle back. My real question is she more than likely going to die is she in that general area the circling back and yes it was a different blood trail I'm confused about it going back tomorrow to look around

Like a straight down shot? Or just hit her high mid-body? Was arrow watery or have a smell to it? Any fat on arrow? All you could hope for would be the artery that runs along spine. Good luck! Hope you find her.

It was on the top of her back but angled in and the blood was light colored and puddled and then spots then puddles

I say bring in a dog to track her. If it was angle, might have got liver. Good luck and keep us posted.
Sure thing thanks going back here in a little while to look

The femoral artery runs right under the spine if I'm not mistaken. Sounds like you could've hit it. She's dead not far away if you did. I hit one high and just a little back earlier this year and she might've gone 100 yards. I know I cut the femoral because she bled like crazy and it was a couple inches too far back to be top of lungs.

Puddles of blood usually mean the deer stopped momentarily. Usually that means it is a hit to the abdominal cavity(liver or gut etc.),or skeletal. The fact this deer has circled sounds like you got above the spine and a non lethal hit. Just speculation based on experience. Good luck with the search and hope you have a successful recovery.
