Recently have seen bass boats with seats so short they sit on the deck? Is the riser collapsible or what?

I had one in which the seat could be lifted out of the post. (The post had a hole at its top and a stem at the bottom.) When the post was lifted out of the hole in the deck, the short stem on the bottom of the seat would fit back into the hole on the deck. There were two slots near the passenger seat that held the posts for the front and back fishing seats for travel.Recently have seen bass boats with seats so short they seat on the deck? Or bounce / blow off.A lot of folks set the extension in a box so the seat doesn't twirl around
I hear ya there...I move mine from the front and put it in the back when I get back on the gas motor. The seat would definitely rip your face off coming off at any speed, especially at WOT.Or bounce / blow off.
I wish mine did, I can remove the kingpin type seat but still occasionally trip over the tube sticking up out of the deck 18 inches or so. When I first got the boat I about went over board trying to boat flip a big bass.A lot of folks set the extension in a box so the seat doesn't twirl around
@cbhunter gave me a really nice tracker seat that matches perfectly that he found on the side of the road.I hear ya there...I move mine from the front and put it in the back when I get back on the gas motor. The seat would definitely rip your face off coming off at any speed, especially at WOT.
