Shooting house I am building

I am building this shooting house fro my friend. This is what I got done so far.

Geez....there will be over $1400 into that by the end of it. We just built one not quite that big and was right at $1000. I don't hunt out of it or had money in it, so I don't care lol. I just like doing the work. Looks great though!

I built one very simular but never got around yet to building the steps. I bought a pair of 14 foot 2x12's for that purpose but once I leaned a laddr against it and had that way of getting up there, the steps got forgotten. :)

How did you fasten the top of the steps to the house? I wouldn't compromise on that detail or you could take a nasty fall a few years from now if something starts to rot. Oh, speaking of a few years from now, that's why I like the idea of steps. As we age I think it's going to be easier to climb steps than a ladder. Making non-slip steps though is going to take something more than just using a board.
