I plan on setting up in a stand with white oaks on one side and about 10 apple trees on the other. Should be a good morning I hope.

Plan on climbing up high and surveying an big open area. Target rich environment for sure. Lots of scrub bucks but some very nice does!!!!

I used to have a goal of killing a doe opening weekend. I accomplished that goal 5 out of 7 years. With these cooler temps, I sure wish I was going to be in a tree. This year, I'm waiting until mid October for a buck. Our population is still recovering from the huge herd loss in 2019 to ehd. Making huge leaps, but going to wait until next year to get back after them early. No doe harvests on our place this year. It's all habitat improvements until late October. I hope by then I'll have a buck to target. Best of luck to all that will be hunting!!!
